New ministers assigned portfolios

PESHAWAR: The 12 newly sworn-in members of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa cabinet have been allotted their portfolios, according to a notification issued here on Friday.

The notification said that Nazir Ahmad Abbasi has been allotted the portfolio of ministry of energy and power, Shakeel Ahmad the ministry of communication and works, Mohammad Arif the ministry of mines and minerals, Tariq Mehmood Aryani the ministry of revenue & estate, while Shafiullah Jan has been allotted the portfolio of information and public relations.

Portfolios were also allotted to the advisers and special assistants to the chief minister, including Musavir Khan, adviser on climate change, forestry, environment & wildlife, Liaqat Khan, Zakat, Ushr, social welfare, special education & women empowerment, Hamayun Khan, industries and commerce, while Mian Mohammad Umar has been assigned the portfolio of adviser to the chief minister for agriculture, according to another notification.

It further said that Tariq Saeed has been assigned the portfolio of special assistant for home & tribal affairs, Mohammad Usman, Technical Education and Vocational Training Authority, Tufail Anjum, population welfare, Iftikharullah Jan, prisons, Samiullah Khan, transport and mass transit, Malik Adeel Iqbal, culture, tourism, archaeology and museums, Mohammad Khurshid, livestock, fisheries and cooperatives, while Mohammad Israr has been assigned the portfolio of special assistant to the chief minister for food.
