KARACHI: Pakistan International — a Government Airline — will swing into operation from September, linking Karachi with the Islamic capitals, it is ... learnt. Initially the Airline will operate a bi-weekly service, one flying along Karachi-Baghdad-Cairo-London and the other along Karachi-Teheran-Damascus-Istanbul-Paris-London route.

The Government have placed orders for three 66-seater ultra-modern Super-Cons­tell­ations. Pakistan International will be one of the first world airlines to use Super-Cons­te­l­lations… . They fly 50 miles p.h. faster than the 42-seater standard Constellations. Pend­ing [their] arrival ... Pakistan International will operate standard Constellations… . — Staff correspondent

[Meanwhile, according to news agencies in Teheran,] Britain today [May 19] offered to send a mission to Iran immediately to discuss a new oil agreement “on a fair and equitable basis”. This proposal was made in a Note from the British Foreign Secretary, Mr Herbert Morrison, handed to the Government here by Ambassador Sir Francis Shepherd. The Note warned Iran that any precipitate unilateral action in nationalising oil would endanger Anglo-Iranian relations… .
