LAHORE: Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Syed Abdul Rahim Shirazi has suspended from service the traffic warden, who allegedly misbehaved with a woman during traffic challan process, taking notice of a video clip of the episode surfacing on social media.

According to official sources, a motorcyclist was stopped by a warden, Akhtar, for violating one-way traffic rule in the Mozang area.

During the enforcement action, the male bike rider handed over his driving licence to the traffic warden for issuance of a challan slip.

However, a woman riding pillion with the biker attempted to take back his driving licence from the warden, who allegedly pushed her back.

A video of the incident was shared on social media and taking immediate notice, the CTO suspended the warden from service, ordering an inquiry into the matter.

The CTO says that misbehaviour and misconduct with citizens will not be tolerated under any circumstances.

He further directed all traffic wardens to deal with citizens politely, patiently, and in a professional manner.
