Three killed in shooting, crash

QUETTA: A senior private school official was gunned down in Quetta, while two women were killed and 15 others injured in a collision between a speeding truck and a vehicle at Kuchlak Bypass on Monday.

Police said four unidentified armed men riding two motorcycles opened fire on private school director near the Sariab Mill area, killing him on the spot. The deceased was identified as Sohail Ahmed, who received multiple bullet injuries. The attackers fled the scene after the incident.

Police shifted the body to hospital and, after completing legal formalities, handed it over to the heirs. A case has been registered and efforts are underway to trace and arrest the suspects.

Meanwhile, two women were killed and 15 others, including women and children, were injured after a collision between a speeding truck and a vehicle on the Kuchlak Bypass.

According to police, the incident occurred when a fast-moving truck went out of the driver’s control, hit the vehicle and overturned. As a result, two women, Bibi Sado and Amina Bibi, died on the spot.

The injured included Makai, Farooq Khan, Rozi Muhammad, Sahiba, Zarmina, Sabra Bibi, five-year-old Salim, Bacha Khan, five-year-old Dad Khan, two-year-old Usman, three-year-old Shameena, eight-year-old Naik Bakht, and 14-year-old Nasrullah, along with others.
