DADU: The Mehar police on Saturday claimed to have arrested a suspect, Sada Hussain Chandio, who was wanted in a case pertaining to the killing of three policemen, beside many other cases of heinous crime.

They claimed that the suspect was arrested after an encounter along Suhag Wah (irrigation channel) on Fareedabad Road.

Sada Hussain Chandio, son of Aurangzeb Chandio, was nominated in a case of an armed attack on a police party some three months ago in Mehar, they said, adding that the attackers had snatched a G-3 rifle from one of the martyred policemen. “The official weapon has been recovered from Sada Hussain,” they said.

They recalled that the three policemen — Imam Din Khoso, Abdul Hafeez Mahesar and Irfan Ali Chandio — were martyred in the Mehar attack and the outlaws had snatched the service rifle from Constable Irfan Ali Chandio.

The police party that arrested the suspect was led by Mehar SHO Mohammad Ibrahim Soomro.
