Russia calls for ‘peaceful solution’ on Iran after Egypt meeting

Russia’s Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and his Egyptian counterpart Badr Abdelatty have discussed the situation in the Middle East, including developments surrounding Iran, during talks on the sidelines of the BRICS foreign ministers’ meeting in New Delhi, Al Jazeera reports.

According to Russia’s Foreign Ministry, both sides have stressed the need for a “peaceful solution” to the crisis and called for greater international efforts towards a “sustainable long-term settlement”.
