KARACHI, July 3: St Joseph School proved their dominance when they won three bouts at the fifth and last school boys weekly boxing competition at Young Fishermen’s Sports Centre (YFSC) on Sunday.

Although the activity organized by YFSC was for boys, a new chapter was added to the history of Pakistan boxing when first-ever women boxing match was held between two girls from St Joseph’s kindergarten.

To encourage women boxing in Pakistan, both Summan and Mahgul were declared winners in a 16kg exhibition bout.

St Joseph’s Shahrukh overpowered Mahmood of TCF High School 2-1 in the 26kg category, while Saeed of St Joseph got the better of Waheed of GBSS Tekri 2-1 in a 28 kg fight.
