HYDERABAD: Officials of the Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE), Mirpurkhas region, raided the offices of the Hyderabad Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) on Monday and seized records pertaining to the Class-IX and XI examinations of 2024 and 2025.
The raid was conducted by an ACE team, led by Inspector Dilip Kumar, under the supervision of a judicial magistrate.

Prof Mahesar had, on April 30, recorded his statement along with other colleagues and employees in the ongoing investigation, started by the Mirpurkhas ACE. The ACE had also issued such notices to about seven employees of the BISE requiring them to appear before it on Monday (May 11) in connection with the ongoing inquiry into the results of the 2024 and 2025 examinations in the wake of an investigation involving Anwar Aleem Khanzada, the arrested controller of examination.
Board sources said that the officials who were summoned by the ACE were not present. They included Aijaz Kaka, the assistant controller of the Top Secret branch, Mohammad Sajid, an assistant in the same branch, Salahuddin, assistant controller secondary school certificate (SSC), Muzamil, computer operator, Anwar Ahmed Khan, a BISE employee, Mohammad Ali Shaikh, computer programmer, Masroor Zai, BISE’s then controller examination, Qadir Bhutto, an assistant in the Top Secret branch (matric) and Shahnawaz Bhutto, the then BISE controller.

On Monday, the visiting ACE officials sealed the office of Aijaz Kaka and seized the computers and ledgers pertaining to the 2024 and 2025 examinations of Class-IX and XI.
BISE controller Shakeel Laghari was present during the raid.
While Aijaz Kaka did not attend the calls made to him by Dawn, Masroor Zai did spoke to this reporter and said that he had submitted his written statement to explain that the inquiry did not pertain to him because he had been removed from service. He mentioned in his statement that when he obtained a stay order regarding his removal, he was suspended by the competent authority.
