Hoarded wheat seized in Sargodha

SARGODHA: As many as 14,250 sacks of wheat were recovered and taken into custody from different areas of the district during a crackdown against hoarders.

As per details, in the crackdown against hoarding during the wheat procurement campaign in Sargodha, Sahiwal tehsil assistant commissioner raided the Lakhwal, Mochiwal, Abuwala, Balochan, Sial Sharif and Nooriwala areas. Some 3,600 sacks of wheat were recovered in Balochan village, 3,750 from Abuwala village and 2,300 sacks of wheat from Mochiwal town, which were taken into custody and action was being taken against hoarders.

Deputy Commissioner Hussain Ahmed Raza Chaudhry has ordered the teams to continue the crackdown against illegal hoarding without discrimination and take strict legal action against the elements involved in it.

INJURED: Three teenagers were seriously injured when their motorcycle collided with a concrete mixer parked on the roadside due to high speed near Chak 99 North in the Sillanwali town of Sargodha.

According to details, Abbas Naseer Janbeh, Fahad Murtaza and Abu Bakar were seriously injured in the accident.

They were shifted to the DHQ Teaching Hospital in a critical condition and the police were investigating.

DROWNS: A man drowned while crossing the Jhelum river using a plastic can, while another was rescued alive in the Kundan Khurd Shahpur area.

According to people present at the scene, two people were crossing the river holding a plastic can when it slipped away from them and one of them drowned.

BREACH: A 10 to 12-foot wide breach in the canal drain in the Jalal Da Gour Shahpur Sadar area of Sargodha has flooded the nearby wheat fields and caused damage to standing crops.
