One woman kidnapped for ‘honour’, others tortured

SARGODHA: Six men allegedly abducted a woman in the name of honour at gunpoint, tore off the clothes of other accompanying women and also tortured another pregnant woman in Chak 187 NB of Sargodha.

According to the police, Muhammad Fayyaz from Chak 187 NB and a girl named Parveen had married of their own free will on February 15. On the day of the incident, Parveen was busy washing clothes at a tubewell on the bank of a canal with her mother-in-law Sawai Bibi and 9-month pregnant sister-in-law Naseem Bibi.

There, six men, including Parveen’s brother Sikandar and brother-in-law Hassan, allegedly tortured the women at gunpoint, tore off their clothes, beat the pregnant woman to abort her pregnancy, and kidnapped Parveen, who was also said to be pregnant.

The Jhal Chakian Police have registered a case against two nominated and four unknown suspects on the complaint of the abducted woman’s husband Fayyaz and investigations are ongoing.

ACCIDENT: A girl riding a scooty died after being crushed by a speeding mini truck.

According to the police, Momina (24) died on the spot due to head injuries after being crushed by a speeding mini truck near Bypass Chowk in Bhalwal Town of Sargodha. Her body was handed over to her heirs after necessary legal proceedings.

Police took the mini truck and its driver into custody and were investigating.

ROBBERY: Six robbers allegedly abducted a citizen at gunpoint, snatched his car, a mobile phone and over Rs11 million in cash and threw him at a deserted spot and fled.

According to the police, six robbers riding a car forcibly stopped the car of citizen Abdul Wahab near the Sulaimanpura Canal and took him out of the car at gunpoint, blindfolded him and took him to an unknown location. The suspects allegedly held him hostage for seven hours and took away his car, mobile phone and cash from him. They also allegedly withdrew another Rs75,128 from an ATM and left the victim at a deserted spot and fled.

The Bhalwal Police registered a case and investigations were underway to find the robbers.

ABSCONDER ARRESTED: Police claimed to have arrested a murder and attempted murder accused from the airport who returned to the country after five years in disguise from abroad. According to details, fugitive Abdul Wahab had allegedly killed Muhammad Aslam and injured Muhammad Imran in the Hathi Wind village of Bhera Town in Sargodha in 2022 and fled abroad.

The Special Operations Cell claimed to have arrested him from the airport after he entered Pakistan under a disguise on Tuesday.

The Bhera Police were investigating the matter.
