Two boys among four die in lightning strikes

TOBA TEK SINGH: At least four persons, including two boys, died after being struck by lightning in different incidents in Toba Tek Singh and Jhang districts.

In the first incident, a boy was struck by lightning during rain at Mauza Kunal Sheroana, Basti Wasu, in Athara Hazari tehsil of Jhang.

According to Rescue 1122, a boy, identified as Ali Raza (13), was playing in the rain when lightning struck him.

He was shifted to Athara Hazari Tehsil Headquarters (THQ) Hospital, where doctors referred him to the Jhang District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital. He later succumbed to his burns.

In the second incident, a Rescue 1122 report said, a boy, Ghulam Sarwar (13), of Chak 401 JB, Dabanwali, was struck by lightening while returning home after grazing his goats.

A rescue team tried to resuscitate the boy and shifted him to the DHQ hospital, where doctors declared him dead.

Similarly, in Kamalia tehsil, a labourer, identified as Haji Muhammad (35), was returning home to Mouza Pipliwala, along with his minor son, when during rain lightning struck him. As a result, he suffered serious burns and died instantly, while his minor son remained unharmed.

In yet another incident in Jhang district’s Mouza Massan, a man, identified as Mumtaz Sakyana (45), died after lightning struck him during rain.
