LAHORE: The Punjab Council of the Arts has announced a vibrant cultural initiative aimed at celebrating creativity, strength and talent across the province. The programme, scheduled for May 14, 15, and 16, will provide a unified platform to the young artists to showcase their skills in multiple disciplines.

According to the official announcement, the initiative invites participation in painting, tableau (tableaux ), and speech competitions.

The event reflects the PUCAR’s commitment to promoting inclusive cultural expression and empowering youth through the arts.

Mehboob Alam, executive director of the council, emphasised the importance of such initiatives, stating that the youth were a cornerstone of society and a vital force in shaping cultural identity.

He noted that providing platforms like these not only nurtured talent but also strengthened national values and social harmony.

“The creative spirit of our young generation is a powerful asset, and the PUCAR is dedicated to highlighting and supporting their contributions,” he added.

Mr Alam said the event had been designed as a one-window opportunity for the participants, ensuring ease of registration and broad accessibility.

He expressed optimism that a large number of applicants from educational institutions and cultural organisations would participate in the competitions, saying that the council had announced cash prizes for top performers in each category.

In addition to financial rewards, the winners would receive certificates and opportunities to show their work in the future PUCAR platforms.

PUCAR spokesperson Sher Baz said an extensive awareness campaign had been launched to ensure maximum participation from across Punjab.

He said the multi-platform campaign aimed at effectively engaging youth, educational institutions, and aspiring artists on a wider scale.
