Son turns out to be killer of father

TOBA TEK SINGH: Police claimed to have solved the case of blind murder of a man of Chak 766 GB of Pirmahal tehsil, saying that the victim’s son turned out to be his killer.

A Toba police spokesperson told reporters on Monday that on April 11, the Arouti police received information that one Sharif of Chak 766 GB, has been shot dead.

His murder case was registered against four unidentified persons on the application of his brother Ghulam Shabbir.

District Police Officer (DPO) Akhlaqullah Tarar formed a team, led by Pirmahal DSP, which found no evidence of involvement of any external elements in the murder.

The spokesperson said that as the police interrogated various people, including the victim’s son, Asad Abbas, he (the son) repeatedly changed his statements and finally admitted to killing his father.

The police arrested the suspect, who said he had suspicions about his father’s character, due to which he killed him. The murder weapon has been recovered from the suspect.

CONVICTION: Faisalabad Additional District and Sessions Judge Naveedul Rehman handed down on Monday 29-year imprisonment, along with Rs900,000 fine to a man in a drug case.

Kotwali police had arrested the convict, Ali Murtaza, of Sindhi Town locality of Faisalabad, on March 31, 2024 and recovered a large quantity of hashish from him.

ROBBERY DRAMA: Police exposed a house robbery dram, staged by a married woman, who herself turned out be the culprit, at Kamalia on Monday.

Police said that a caller, Faizan Zafar, of Charh Muhalla, informed Kamalia city police that armed robbers allegedly took away gold ornaments and cash worth more than Rs2.5 million from his wife during a “house robbery.”

During investigation, when the police questioned the complainant’s wife, Nabila Bibi, they found her conduct and statement suspicious.

On being taken in custody and after further interrogation, Nabila confessed that she herself had stolen the ornaments and cash, which were recovered from her.

A case has been registered against the suspect.

SALES POINTS: The district administration has announced temporary sales point for trade of sacrificial animals at different places ahead of Eidul Azha in Faisalabad.

In this regard, temporary sales points will also be established outside the city, along with the Model Cattle Market at Nyamuwana, while there will be a ban on the purchase and sale of sacrificial animals within the city limits.

Deputy Commissioner Nadeem Nasir, presiding over a meeting held on Monday, said special arrangements will be made for security, lighting, water supply, fodder and cleanliness at the temporary sales points.

He directed that during the functioning of these sales points, a smooth flow of traffic, parking space, washrooms and seating arrangements should be ensured.

Officers from civil defense, traffic police, Suthra Punjab Authority, Municipal Corporation, district council, Rescue 1122, RTA, local government and other departments were also present.

Accident: A child died after being hit by a truck.

As per Rescue 1122, Hassan (12) was crossing the road at Adda Kot Bahadar in Ahmad Pur Sial tehsil, when hit by a speeding truck. He died on the spot.
