SARGODHA: The lady health supervisors (LHSs) and lady health workers (LHWs) working under district health authority held a demonstration outside the chief executive officer’s office in support of their demands.
A large number of protesters, holding placards and banners, sought equal pay, payment of their dues and provision of facilities.
On this occasion, the protesters’ leaders, Farah Deeba and Amiran Bibi, addressed the demonstration, saying that the lady health supervisors and LHWs, were the backbone of the health department but they were facing various problems.
They said petrol expenses and fixed travel allowance (FTA) of regular LHSs and additional LHSs had not been paid yet while they had also not been provided with tabs and kits. They added that they were not paid like other staff in the Clinic on Wheels.
The protesters demanded Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz to review their demands and increase the additional charge, and upgrade them.
