Four cops held for drug peddling

GUJRAT: The Gujranwala police have arrested four cops allegedly involved in drug peddling as cases have also been lodged against them with different police stations of the district.

A spokesman for Gujranwala police told Dawn that the action had been taken on the basis of solid evidence. He said further investigation might expose their accomplices .

The arrested cops include constable Ijaz of Gujranwala Cantonment police station, Arof of Garjakh police station, Imran of Tatley Aali police station and Sajid of Khiyali police station. Each suspect was in possession of 1.5kg drugs.
