Rs1.52bn budget for Abbottabad

ABBOTTABAD, July 1: The Abbottabad district council has approved the Rs1.52 billion budget for the fiscal year 2006-07.

The budget session was presided over by Juneed Tanoli, naib nazim.

District nazim Sardar Haider Zaman presented the budget which proposes no new tax. An amount of Rs1.33 billion was allocated for salaries and Rs6.80 million for development projects to be executed under the CCBs.

TAX BAR POLLS: Bashir Ahmed and Sajid Rehman Malik were re-elected president and secretary, respectively, of the Hazara Tax Bar Association in its annual general-body meeting here on Friday. Agha Shabbir Ahmed from Haripur was elected vice-president and Rashid Javed finance and press secretaries of the association.
