KARACHI: A young man was shot dead and another wounded in a suspected targeted attack on I.I. Chundrigar Road on Saturday evening.

The Mithadar police said that Noor Aziz, 22, was killed while an unknown person was wounded.

South DIG Syed Asad Raza said it appeared to be a targeted killing but the exact motive was yet to be ascertained.

He said three persons, including Aziz, were sitting outside a shop when assailants riding a motorbike emerged there.

One of them got off the two-wheeler and opened indiscriminate firing and rode away. As a result, bullets hit Aziz, who died on the spot.

Another man also suffered a bullet wound in the leg and was taken to a hospital for treatment.

The deceased originally hailed from Bannu.

The body was shifted to the Dr Ruth Pfau Civil Hospital Karachi for medico-legal formalities.
