GUJRAT: At least 550 intending pilgrims departed from Sailkot International Airport to Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) as Haj flight operation was launched on two flights on Sunday.
Federal Minister for Defence Khawaja Muhammad Asif and Punjab Minister for Labour Muhammad Manshaullah Butt formally inaugurated the Haj flight operations 2026 at Sialkot International Airport, sending off 550 pilgrims to the holy land.
MPA Faisal Ikram and Chairman Sial Hassan Ali Bhatti, along with other distinguished guests, were also present on the occasion.
A ceremony was held in the evening at the international departure terminal of Sialkot International Airport to mark the occasion, where the first Haj flights were seen off. Special arrangements were made for the pilgrims, while effective measures were ensured for facilitation and security at the airport.
On this occasion, two special flights departed. AirSial flight PF-7702 carried 157 pilgrims, while Pakistan International Airlines flight PK-747 transported 393 pilgrims to the KSA.
According to officials, the comfort, guidance, and convenience of the pilgrims are being given top priority to ensure a smooth and spiritually fulfilling their journey.
The Sialkot International Airport continues to play a vital role in providing quality travel facilities to the people of the region, while ensuring excellent arrangements for pilgrims.
At the conclusion of the ceremony, special prayers were offered for the safe, comfortable, and blessed journey of the pilgrims.
