KARACHI: The Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan on Tuesday demanded that the report of a judicial commission tasked with investigating the Gul Plaza fire incident be immediately made public.
Speaking at a press conference here, senior leader Dr Farooq Sattar alleged that the government had intentionally withheld the report of the judicial commission.
Accompanied by Advocate Tariq Mansoor and others, Dr Sattar said: “Withholding the report is tantamount to shielding the real culprits behind the tragedy.”
He urged the chief justice of the Sindh High Court to take immediate notice and ensure that the report be made public in the interest of transparency and justice.
Advocate Mansoor alleged that facts had been distorted before the courts to protect influential figures. “Our legal team would present substantial evidence in the high court to expose corruption, negligence and administrative failures linked to the incident,” he added.
