KARACHI, June 27: Minority lawmaker Eshwar Lal lodged an FIR against four opposition MPAs and Leader of the Opposition in the Sindh Assembly Nisar Khuhro on Monday night in connection with the June 21 incident that occurred in the assembly hall when Mr Lal was manhandled by some lawmakers.

The FIR was registered under Section 324/34 at the Preedy police station.

Sources said that contents of the FIR at the time of the registration were shared with Sindh Assembly Speaker Muzaffar Ali Shah and later a copy of it was sent to him.

On June 21, opposition members of the Sindh Assembly swooped a minority lawmaker of the ruling PML, Eshwar Lal, when a woman legislator, Shazia Marri, complained that he had sent her an unsolicited note through a peon bearing ‘indecent remarks’.

She received another note from Poonjomal Bheel, a minority member of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement. Ms Marri handed over both the chits to Mr Khuhro, who passed them over to other opposition members.
