HYDERABAD, June 27: The executive engineer of Naseer division on Tuesday announced rotation programme in the wake of water shortage in the Indus river. According to the programme, Tando Allahyar-II distributary, Nagnah distributary, Gharib distributary, Tando Soomro-II distributary, direct outfall from RD-90 to RD-354, Chango minor, Jakas distributary, Basrau minor-II and Sangi minor would remain open from June 28 to July 6.

The official said that Tando Allahyar-I distributary, Tando Soomro-I distributary, Balghai distributary, Landhi distributary, Shaikh Moosa minor, direct outfall from RD-0 to RD-90, Landhi-II distributary, Bajar minor, Pir Shakir-I and II minors and Tando Ghulam Ali distributary would remain open from July 6 to July 14.

The official also announced rotation programme for Bakhrani sub-division and channels off-taking the Rohri canal.

He said that Zounr minor, Chakar distributary from RD-0 to RD-45 and Sarfaraz branch would remain open up to July 5 while Miran Kotri minor, Khesano-I and II minor and Chakar distributary from RD-45 would remain closed up to July 5 and Chakar distributary from 0-point onward and Khesano-II would remain open from July 5 to 13.

Direct outlets from Sarfaraz branch, Meeran Kori minor and Zounr minor would remain closed during this period, he said.

About channels taking water from the Rohri canal, the official said that Unnar distributary, Latif minor and Tajpur minor would remain open from July 6 to 14 and from July 22 to 30.

Similarly, Ghotano-I minor, Palijani minor and Shahpur minor would remain open from June 28 to July 7 and from July 14 to 22.

DEMAND: An unmarried woman, Ms Tabassum Hayat, has accused her brothers of usurping her late father’s property.

She said that they issued her death threats when she demanded her share in the property.

Speaking at a press conference at the press club on Monday, she said that her father had left many shops and running business in Shahi Bazar, Tando Adam which were taken over by her brothers, Shoukat Hayat and Faisal Hayat.

When she demanded her share, the brothers subjected her to torture and forced her to leave.

She said that she had moved to her late grandfather’s house where she was living alone but the brothers were still issuing her death threats.

She said that she sought police help but Tando Adam police refused to register an FIR against her brothers who had close rapport with a local MPA.

Ms Tabassum said that being an unmarried woman it was almost impossible for her to keep up her case.

She made an appeal to higher authorities to take notice of her brothers’ excesses and give her justice.

Afraid for her life she said that in case she was murdered, police should register an FIR against her brothers.
