Nadia adjudged best athlete

LAHORE, June 26: Fine contribution of 21 points by Nadia Zulfiqar helped Punjab win the Inter-provincial U-17 girls athletics championship with a total points tally of 107 on Monday.

Nadia was also declared the best athlete of the three-day meet.

A total cash prize of Rs100,000 was announced for all the four participating provinces.

Results:

100m: Nadia Zulifqar (Punjab) 13.93sec; Moona Naz (Sindh); Namra Khan (Punjab).

200m: Nadia Zulifqar (Punjab) 28.51sec; Shahnila Sadiq (Punjab); Moona Naz (Sindh).

800m: Azalfa Shafi (Punjab) two min 49.69sec; Yashmeen (Punjab); Madiha (Sindh).

1500m: Azalfa Shafi (Punjab) five min 55.30sec; Mishaf Ayaz (Punjab); Sumaira Manzoor (NWFP).

4x100 relay: Nadia Zulifqar (Punjab) 57.35sec; Sindh; NWFP.

Long jump: Nadia Zulifqar (Punjab) 4.52m; Asma Rafique (Punjab); Ishrat Begum.

High jump: Asma Rafique (Punjab) 1.25m; Sadaf (Sindh); Namra Khan Tareen (Punjab).

Discus throw: Majida Saif (Punjab) 25.85m; Parveen Akhtar (Punjab); Aram Ayoub.

Shot put: Nasira Gul (NWFP) 8.64m; Faryal Imtiaz (Punjab); Sadia Faiz (NWFP).

Javelin throw: Faryal Imtiaz (Punjab) 23.13m; Tayyaba Yasmin (NWFP); Nighat Bibi (NWFP).
