LAHORE: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has arrested a deputy secretary of Evacuee Trust Property Board (ETPB) on the charges of corruption.

According to the FIA, its anti-corruption circle in Lahore arrested ETPB Deputy Secretary Muhammad Akram, for allegedly receiving Rs170 million as bribe during a raid on Wednesday.

“The suspect allegedly received Rs170m as bribe from a citizen in exchange for leasing 200 ETPB plots. The suspect also acquired a 751-square-yard plot in Lahore Cantonment as part of the bribe,” the FIA said, adding that to conceal the corruption, the suspect used a fake sale deed.

Further investigation is underway.
