RAWALPINDI: A petrol pump cashier was robbed of Rs750,000 by two armed men in the limit of R.A. Bazaar police.

In another incident, a woman attempted suicide by slashing her throat with a knife in Dhamial on Thursday.

The robbery victim lodged an FIR with the police, stating that two motorcycle riders came to the petrol pump and entered the manager’s room. They held the manager and the cashier at gunpoint and looted Rs750,000 and escaped.

Meanwhile a woman allegedly attempted suicide by slashing her throat with a knife over a domestic issue in Girja Road. The injured woman, 40, was shifted to Benazir Bhutto Hospital where she was stated to be in critical condition.

Initial police report suggested that the woman had been in distress and her mental health deteriorated since her 15-year-old daughter died a few months ago. Police have been investigating the incident.
