PRESIDENT Asif Ali Zardari offers Eid prayers at Zardari House in Nawabshah.—Dawn

NAWABSHAH: President Asif Ali Zardari celebrated the Eidul Fitr along with his family members, relatives and close associates in his hometown, Nawabshah, on Saturday.

Upon his arrival at Nawabshah Airport on Thursday evening, President Zardari was received by Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly Syed Ghulam Mustafa Shah, MPAs Ali Hassan Zardari, Ghulam Qadir Chandio, Chaudhry Javed Arain, Mayor Qazi Rasheed, Deputy Mayor Mubashir Arain, Ashique Ali Zardari and others.

Later, Asif Zardari, along with his sister MPA Faryal Talpur (who heads Pakistan Peoples Party women wing) received a delegation of his clan at Zardari House and gave a hearing on their different issues.

On Friday, President Zardari visited Khadar village to offer his condolences to the bereaved family of local party leader Ghulam Sarwar Unnar. He also proceeded to Morio Lakho village near Sakrand to condole the death of another party leader Noor Ahmed Lakho with the latter’s family members.

Asks PPP ministers, lawmakers to ensure resolution of people’s issues at their doorsteps

President Zardari spent a busy day on Saturday after offering Eid prayers at Zardari House.

He later received Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah, Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon, Home Minister Ziaul Hasan Lanjar, Minister for Prisons Ali Hasan Zardari and other senior PPP leaders, elected representatives and elite of the area.

During his meeting with the CM, ministers and lawmakers, he directed them to ensure that people’s issues were resolved at their doorsteps.

He further directed them to focus on development and timely completion of projects.

The president also called for taking care of the needy. He said contacts and meetings at public level should be maintained.

First Lady MNA Aseefa Bhutto-Zardari was also present at the meetings.

On Sunday, President Zardari proceeded to his ancestral graveyard, Ballu Ja Quba, and offered fateha on the graves of his father Hakim Ali Zardari, mother Begum Bilqees Sultana and other relatives buried there. He then left Nawabshah for Larkana.

Bilawal visits Bhuttos’ mausoleum Pakistan Peoples Party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari offered the Eid prayers at Garhi Khuda Bakhsh Bhutto and offered fateha on the graves of his grandfather Zukfikar Ali Bhutto, mother Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto and other family members, including Begum Nusrat Bhutto, Mir Murtaza Bhutto and Mir Shahnawaz Bhutto, at the Bhuttos’ mausoleum. He also visited the graveyard of PPP martyrs and paid his respects to them on their graves.

After the Eid prayers, Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari offered special supplications for the stability and peace in the country and prosperity of its people. He also prayed specifically for peace in the Middle East, particularly in Palestine. The PPP chairman also met ordinary citizens and extended the Eid greetings to them.

Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah, Sindh PPP President Nisar Ahmed Khuhro, Syed Qaim Ali Shah and numerous other PPP leaders and workers were also present.

In his Eidul Fitr message, Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari extended heartfelt congratulations to the nation. “Eidul Fitr is not merely a day of celebration, but also an occasion that reminds us of the importance of faith, compassion, and human solidarity. Eid is a symbol of the completion of a journey of patience, sacrifice and spiritual renewal, which teaches us the values of generosity and helping others,” he said.

Bilawal said that everyone should share the joys of Eid with those in need.

He also noted that the world was currently facing numerous challenges. In such circumstances, he said, there was a need to promote unity, tolerance and mutual respect.
