SHANGLA: At least 10 family members were hospitalised on Thursday evening after losing consciousness from consuming food accidentally, allegedly contaminated with poisonous substance. The incident occurred in the Shahpur Olandar area of Shangla, officials from Rescue 1122 reported.

Rasool Khan Sharif, a spokesperson for Rescue 1122 Shangla, reported that the control room received an emergency call that several family members had collapsed after eating contaminated food.

In response to the alert, Rescue 1122 medical teams, along with ambulances, quickly arrived at the scene to provide initial medical assistance to the affected persons.

“The victims were stabilised on-site before being transferred to the District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital in Alpuri for further treatment,” theRescue 1122spokesperson said.

The Rescue officials stated that all the individuals affected belonged to the same household and that the food they had consumed had contained a poisonoussubstance mixed in the meal.

Hospital sources stated that the condition of the victims was being closely monitored.

PEACE RALLY: Shangla Police organised a flag march from Police Line, Alpuri, to Dehrai Bazaar the other to maintain law and order in the district and to further strengthen sense of security among the public.

The flag march was led by DSP Headquarters and SDPO Alpuri, wherein a large contingent of police participated.

The flag march passed through various important highways and markets and urged citizens to cooperate with the police in maintaining law and order.

According to Shangla police, such activities aim at discouraging criminal elements and ensuring safety of the lives and property of the public.

SNOWFALL AND RAIN: The upper parts of Shangla received a heavy snowfall and rain in plain areas for the second consecutive day.

The fresh spell of snowfall on the mountains and rain in lower areas including Bisham city, Alpuri, Puran, Chakesar, Martung, Shahpur and Dandai continued for the second straight day.

A fresh spell of snowfall was received in Yakhtangay, Shangla top, Kandaw, Gamtal, Kapar Banda and other mountainous areas.

The new spell of snowfall and rain has turned the weather quite chilly.Shangla top, Lilownai, Alpuri and Ajmeer reported minus temperature on Friday, while plain areas recorded 12-15 celsius.
