British maritime security firm Ambrey says that a merchant vessel reported hearing the sound of an explosion near Al Sharjah anchorage in the United Arab Emirates, Reuters reports.
The explosion was at an undetermined distance from the vessel. Ambrey assessed it to be a projectile interception during an attack on the UAE.
There was no damage to the vessel or injuries to the crew, Ambrey added.
