Model school opens at GCUF

TOBA TEK SINGH: The newly-constructed University Model School at Government College University Faisalabad (GCUF) was inaugurated on Monday by Engineer Qamar Zaman along with Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Rauf-i-Azam.

Engineer Qamar Zaman, an old alumnus of GCUF, had provided significant financial support for the construction of this school. He emphasised that quality education and proper training of children are essential for building a balanced and civilised society. He also announced his continued support for the university’s further development.

Dr Rauf said that “The University Model School” will provide educational facilities from nursery to grade five, offering quality learning opportunities not only to children of the university staff colony but also to those from surrounding areas. He termed the establishment of the school a significant step toward promoting quality primary education.

SEMINAR: Strong research writing not only reflects intellectual rigour but also strengthens global academic ranking and reputation, says Institute of Agricultural Extension, Education Director Dr Babar Shahbaz at two-day seminar on “Advancing Research Competence: Writing, Submission and Peer Review Excellence” at UAF on Monday.

He emphasised that the quality of research papers determine the credibility, visibility and impact of any academic institution.

He stressed that researchers must focus on clarity, originality, ethical standards and methodological soundness to produce impactful publications that address real-world challenges.

Dr Sheikh Farhan Ashraf spoke about common mistakes in manuscript submission and peer review processes. He emphasised the importance of structured abstracts, logical flow of arguments and proper citation practices.

Dr Javed Iqbal, Dr Saira Akhtar, Dr Ijaz Ashraf, Dr Samina Tahira, Dr Ayesha Kiran, Sadia Aslam and Jahanzeb Tariq also spoke.
