CHARSADDA: Four persons, including a man and his son, were killed when rival groups exchanged fire over a dispute involving women in Batgram area of Shabqadar tehsil during the Taraweeh prayers on Sunday, creating panic and fear in the area.

According to local sources, the firing suddenly erupted inside the mosque. The deceased from the one group were identified as Parvez and Inayat, while Ayaz and Zakir from the second group. They belonged to Aldadkhel area of Batgram. Several people present in the mosque were also reportedly injured during the firing.

Upon receiving information, Rescue 1122 teams reached the scene and shifted the bodies and the injured to the Tehsil Headquarters Hospital, Shabqadar. Police said that investigations into the incident had begun.
