SARGODHA: An 80-year-old man, who had been receiving death threats over land and vehicle disputes, was killed at his residence on Saturday in the suburbs of Bhalwal, some 40km from here.

According to police, Abdul of Chak 2-NB of Bhalwal tehsil in Sargodha was receiving death threats over land and vehicle disputes and transactions worth millions of rupees. He was killed with a sharp instrument at his home.

At the time of the incident, his nephew had gone to the market to buy a CCTV camera for his uncle’s protection. When he returned, he found his uncle’s body in a pool of blood at his house. The police shifted the body to the hospital for postmortem and registered a murder case on the complaint of Muhammad Salimullah, the nephew of the deceased.

The police have started investigating the case.

ATTACK: A police team was allegedly attacked during a raid to arrest a fugitive in Sargodha city on Saturday.

According to the police, when the Urban Area Police station in the Muslim Town Gillwala area of the city conducted a raid to arrest a fugitive, five people allegedly attacked the police party and subjected them to violence. They allegedly tore the uniforms of two officers, while also injuring them with sticks.

Police claimed the accused, including the fugitive, managed to escape. Police were conducting raids to arrest the suspects.

MURDER: A man was booked for allegedly killing his wife and burying her body after a domestic dispute in Sargodha.

According to the police, a husband shot and killed his 30-year-old wife Farhat Amir over a domestic dispute and fled in the Islampura locality of Miani town of Sargodha.

The victim’s husband had been married twice. The police handed over the body of the deceased to the heirs after the postmortem.

The police registered a case and were investigating to find the accused.
