The meeting was informed that 163 polling stations had been set up in PP-73, out of which 55 had been declared sensitive.

It was told that CCTV cameras would be installed at sensitive locations, while the polling material had reached the RO office. The election material would be sent to the relevant locations on Saturday along with the staff.

Mr Abbas said that 193 polling stations had been set up for the by-elections in PP-87 Mianwali, out of which 62 had been declared sensitive.

In the meeting, the DPOs of both districts gave a detailed briefing on their respective security plans. The officers were also informed about the transportation of polling staff, logistical support and safe delivery of polling material.

The RPO said that the safe delivery and return of polling material would be ensured at all costs. He directed that the election camps of the candidates should be set up at a fixed distance outside the polling stations to avoid overcrowding or any kind of dispute.

The Sargodha commissioner directed that all departments should ensure transparent, peaceful and orderly polling as per the SOPs of the Election Commission. There should be no shortage of special security and CCTV coverage at sensitive polling stations, he added.
