TAXILA: A Grade 3 student died under mysterious circumstances during class at a primary school in Jallo village, Hassanabdal, on Friday, officials confirmed.

Rescue 1122 officials said that 10-year-old Abdul Wahab was attending class when he suddenly fell unconscious. Teachers immediately responded and called for emergency assistance.

A Rescue 1122 team arrived promptly at the school and administered first aid, including cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), in an effort to revive the child. He was later shifted in critical condition to Tehsil Headquarters Hospital Hassanabdal, where doctors pronounced him dead after examination. The exact cause of death could not be immediately determined.

The incident has left teachers, classmates and local residents in deep shock and grief. Soon after the tragedy, officials from the education department, local administration and police reached the school and collected evidence.
