KASUR: District Police Officer Essa Khan Sukhaira has sent an investigating officer behind the bars at the same police station where he was posted for keeping two citizens in illegal custody and snatching valuables from them.

During an open court on Tuesday, two citizens, Umar Farooq and Muhammad Asif, residents of Qadirabad, complained to the DPO that IO Dost Muhammad illegally detained them at the Saddar Police Station. They also alleged that the cop also snatched expensive mobile phones and cash from them.

Taking action, the DPO asked the SHO to search the IO’s cupboard in the office. When the belongings of the complainants were recovered from the cupboard, the DPO ordered the arrest

of IO Dost Muhammad and registration of a criminal case against him.
