KARACHI: Responding to the demands recently raised in a protest organised by the Sindh Professors and Lecturers Association (SPLA), the provincial college education department has said that the matter of five-tier service structure formula is currently under consideration of the “competent authority” following submission of recommendations.

Responding to media reports regarding the SPLA protest, a department press release states: “The college education department has consistently played a proactive role, transparent and lawful role in processing promotion and posting cases.”

It highlighted that in some cases “the delay is purely legal and procedural.”

The department, it says, has taken concrete steps to improve college infrastructure across the province and that a significant number of “permanent principals have already posted while the remaining cases are under active process”.
