BANNU: The Medical Teaching Institution (MTI) Bannu has treated over 1.13 million patients in its three hospitals last year.

According to the annual performance report, 527,458 patients received treatment at Khalifa Gul Nawaz Hospital Bannu, 406,240 patients were treated at the District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital Bannu, while 199,776 patients sought medical care at the Women and Children Hospital Bannu. The report states that all patients were provided healthcare services within the available resources.

MTI Bannu spokesperson Muhammad Norman Khitab said that at Khalifa Gul Nawaz Hospital, 243,120 patients were examined in the Emergency Department, while 284,338 patients were treated in the Outpatient Department (OPD). At DHQ Hospital Bannu, 200,810 patients received treatment in the Emergency Department and 205,430 patients in the OPD.

Similarly, 99,890 patients visited the Emergency Department and 99,886 patients were treated in the OPD at the Women and Children Hospital Bannu.

The report further revealed that 9,085 patients were provided completely free dialysis services at DHQ Hospital Bannu during the year.

During 2025, a total of 71,589 patients were admitted to MTI Bannu hospitals, including 21,609 admissions at Khalifa Gul Nawaz Hospital, 24,896 at DHQ Hospital, and 25,084 at the Women and Children Hospital Bannu. During the same period, 28,663 major and minor surgical procedures were performed.

Under diagnostic services, the hospitals conducted 69,846 ultrasounds, 804,094 laboratory tests, 11,116 CT scans and 116,510 X-rays. In the Gynaecology Department, a total of 12,155 normal deliveries were carried out including 2,137 deliveries at Khalifa Gul Nawaz Hospital and 10,018 deliveries at the Women and Children Hospital Bannu.

MTI Bannu administration stated that despite limited resources efforts would continue to further improve healthcare services for the public.
