Pakistan’s Farrukh Nadeem wins gold at Asian Shotgun Championship

Pakistan marksman Muhammad Farrukh Nadeem won gold in the Men’s Trap final at the ongoing Asian Shotgun Championship and set two new records in the process.

His scores of 23, 25, 24, 24, and 23 bagged him a new finals world record as well as a new finals Asian record.

Maxim Bedarev of Kazakhstan took silver and Abdulrahman Alfaihan of Kuwait won bronze in the event, while Farrukh’s compatriot Zafarul Haq finished in 28th position.

Farrukh was ranked seventh after the qualifying round.

The gold marks Pakistan’s first and only medal at the championship so far.

Kazakhstan dominates the medal tally with 14 medals with five gold medals, as many bronze, and four silver medals. They are trailed by Qatar with three gold and four silver medals.
