LAHORE: Bay colt One Man Band put up an amazing display of speed to land the Democracy Cup run over 1800 meters in brilliant style at the Racecourse here on Sunday.

Under a superb ride from Jockey Shahbaz, the colt came from behind to overtake front runners Sardar Bay and Hall Road to win the prestigious cup race clocking one minute 53 4/5 seconds.

Soon after the race, joint owners Wali Mohammad Awan and Atta M. Khan received the cup from steward Syed Pervez Hussain.

The winner was trained by Shahid Rehman. A card of seven races was gone through and attended by a large crowd of fans.­
