SARGODHA: The man who allegedly killed the Laksian Police station house officer (SHO) a day earlier was killed in an encounter with the Crime Control Department (CCD) near Doda on Friday.

According to the police, during a search operation after the alleged killer, Malik Taswar Niswana, fled after shooting the station house officer, a CCD team confronted him near the Doda area.

Police alleged that the accused opened fire indiscriminately and was killed in return fire.

Meanwhile, the funeral prayers for martyred Sub-Inspector Aamir Rizwan were offered at the Police Lines where Regional Police Officer Muhammad Shahzad Asif Khan, Commissioner Hafiz Shaukat Ali, District Police Officer Muhammad Sohaib Ashraf, senior officers of law-enforcement agencies, police officers and employees, other senior officials, and civil society members participated.

He was later laid to rest in his native village in Bhagtanwala.

A police contingent presented a salute and the RPO praised the courage and fortitude of the martyr’s family members.

The Sargodha RPO and DPO paid tribute to the departmental services of the martyred sub-inspector.

KILLED: Two brothers were allegedly killed and their father was seriously injured after two groups opened fire on each other during an argument over a land dispute in the limits of the Bhera Police station on Friday.

According to details, the groups opened fire after a heated exchange over a land dispute in the Bonga Sarkharo area of Bhera tehsil in Sargodha.

Two brothers, Irfan (35) and Muhammad Khan (30), were killed in the firing by one group and their father, Muhammad Fiaz, was also seriously injured. He was shifted to the Bhera THQ Hospital in a critical condition.

The accused reportedly fled after opening fire.

Meanwhile, a watchman identified as Muhammad Farhan of the Sargodha Municipality Water Works was killed by the firing of unknown suspects near the area slaughterhouse.

The Jhal Chakian police registered a case against unknown suspects and started investigation and sent the body to the hospital for postmortem.

ACCIDENT: Khushab Quaidabad Police ASI Amanullah fell off a train going for Lahore while boarding. As a result, both of his legs were crushed under the train. He was taken to the Quaidabad THQ, where he succumbed to his injuries.
