RAWALPINDI: Punjab Minister for Housing and Public Health Engineering Department, Bilal Yasin, visited Rawalpindi, where he met with beneficiaries of ‘Apni Chhat Apna Ghar’ housing initiative of the Punjab government.

He stated that the housing department is actively working on low-cost housing schemes, improving urban infrastructure, and providing essential civic facilities to the citizens.

The minister emphasised ensuring quality housing facilities and dignified living standards for the public.

During the visit, beneficiaries expressed their gratitude to the Punjab chief minister and termed the scheme a people-friendly and welfare-oriented initiative.

The minister also received detailed briefings from officials of Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA), Water and Sanitation Agency (Wasa), and Parks and Horticulture Authority (PHA). Managing Director Wasa, Muhammad Saleem Ashraf, briefed the minister on the ongoing mega project Dreams and the overall performance of Wasa in Rawalpindi.

Mr Yasin stated that the public welfare projects are being implemented across the province. He added that establishing Wasa in every district and ensuring the provision of clean drinking water are key priorities of the Punjab government.
