KARACHI, June 9: The Sindh Professors and Lecturers Association on Friday expressed concern and astonishment over the appointment of former Principal of Sindh Madressatul Islam Muhammad Ali Shaikh as Provincial Education Manager and EDO-Higher Education of the city government.

An SPLA meeting with its President, Syed Riaz Ahsan, in the chair and attended by others said a mechanical engineer's posting on a college cadre post was condemnable.

They alleged that the said person was known “corrupt” who had sold the SMI’s land to a private organization.

They added that in the first meeting with his staff, the said EDO had claimed that he had personal relations with several political leaders both in Pakistan and abroad.—PPI
