ISLAMABAD: Digitization of land record of Islamabad is in progress and so far out of 35 revenue estate (mouzas) 24 mouzas have been digitised.

This was stated by officers concerned during a meeting held here at CDA headquarters with CDA Chairmanand Chief Commissioner Mohammad Ali Randhawa in the chair.

“The meeting was informed 24 mouzas (revenue estates) within the ICT limits have been digitised, while the work on the 11 mouzas is progressing rapidly and will be finalised soon.

“The meeting was apprised that the scanning of all records of CDA’s Estate Wing has been completed, while the scanning of building control records is currently underway. “Following the scanning process, the formal digitisation of records will be completed.

“Furthermore, a mobile application is being developed to facilitate citizens and provide them easy access to their land records,” read a press release issued by CDA.

It said that a meeting was held to review the progress made on digitization of land records and the implementation of e-stamp paper between CDA, ICT Administration and the Punjab Land Records Authority (PLRA).

The press release said that the CDA chief ordered formation of a working group to further accelerate and complete all digitization processes.

“This group will not only speed up the digitisation but will also help resolve all obstacles encountered during the process,” read the press release.

Regarding the implementation of e-stamp in Islamabad, the meeting was informed that an agreement has been reached between ICT and PLRA. Under this agreement, testing phase of the e-stamp paper system is currently going on and it is being integrated with the OneLink system. The meeting was told that linking the e-stamp paper system with OneLink System will also promote cashless economy in Islamabad.

The CDA Chairmansaid that these measures will help modernise CDA’s land records through digitisation, resolve difficulties faced by the public in property transfers, mutations, and sales, besides enhancing transparency and record security.

He emphasised that the goal of these initiatives is not only to address public problems and issues but also to further improve the performance and service delivery of the district administration and CDA.
