SAHIWAL: Three transpersons were assaulted and robbed of Rs50,000 during a wedding event at Chak 62/4-R.

Muskan, Kashish and Nadra were hired to perform at the wedding function.

During their performance, they were harassed by three youths who were under influence. After the event, six suspects reportedly cornered the performers, physically assaulted them and snatched their cash before fleeing.

Noor Shah Police registered a case under Section 282 of the PPC against the suspects, identified as Khera, Soni and Shani, based on Muskan’s complaint.

In a separate incident, Dera Rahim Police raided a wedding function at Chak 105/9-L where transgender persons were dancing using high-volume loudspeakers without official permission.

Police arrested the event organisers, Ali Raza and Saif Ali, while approximately 50 spectators and three transpersons managed to escape. A case was registered against 58 people under the Sound System Act on the complaint of ASI Irfan Zakir of Dera Rahim Police Station.
