Punjab names boxing squad

LAHORE, June 1: The Punjab Sports Board has announced a U-17 boxing team which will compete in the Inter-provincial championship to be held in Quetta from Saturday.

Team:

46kg: Abdullah Mohammad Usman (Lahore); 48kgs: Ashraf Masih (Khanewal); 50kgs: Usman Butt (Lahore); 52 kgs: Syed Zakir Ali Zaidi (Lahore); 54kgs: Shahbaz Ali (Khanewal); 57kgs: S.M Kashif Kazmi (Mianwali); 60kgs: Nadir Ali Khan (Khanewal).

Coach: Arshad Javed Qureshi. Manager: Naushad Hussain.

Meanwhile, Punjab will hold one-day trials on June 5 to select its athletics team to take part in the Inter-provincial championship to be held at Abbotabad from June 27 to 29. Trials will be held at Punjab Stadium.

Swimming:

The Punjab Inter-district swimming championship will be held on June 6 and 7.

The competition will be held in freestyle (50, 100,200 and 400m, back-stroke (50, 100, 200m), breaststroke (50, 100, 200m), butterfly (50,100, 200m), individual medley (200m) and medley relay (4x100), freestyle relay (4x100).
