KARACHI: Basant Amn mela

KARACHI, Feb 7: A Basant Amn (Peace) Mela is being organised by the Joint Action Committee for Peace at Gallerie Sadequain, (Frere Hall) on Saturday (Feb 9) afternoon.

A JACP statement says that the Basant Mela aimed to raise awareness about the need for peace in the region as the festival of Basant was celebrated on both sides of the border, and in Pakistan it was celebrated despite opposition from certain quarters.

Other events that will be held on the occasion are screening of certain portions of Pervaiz Hoodbhoy’s film, recitation of peace poems, peace art workshop for children, slide shows etc.

The JACP comprises various groups.
