VEHARI, May 26: Burewala special judicial magistrate Mohammad Ramzan on Friday acquitted the district naib nazim in a case of violating the Marriage Ordinance.

Naib nazim Mohammad Yousaf Kasalia had served six dishes to over 1,000 guests at his walima reception on April 8.

Earlier, the Supreme Court had taken a suo moto action for violating the Marriage Act, after publishing of a news item in an English daily.

EDO revenue Malik Masood Ahmad had filed a suit in the court of the special magistrate on April 13 against Yousaf Kasalia for serving meal on his marriage.
