LAHORE, May 25: A fine century by Irfan Zaman and all-round performance by Hafiz Saad Nasim helped Government Muslim Model High School beat Government High School, Chauburji by 267 runs in the PCB-National Inter-school cricket championship (Lahore Region) at Model Town Greens ground on Thursday.

Irfan struck 105-ball 131 with the aid of 14 boundaries and three sixes as the winners piled up 384-6 in the allotted 45 overs.

Opener Hafiz Saad Nasim (82, six fours) and Yasir Ali (62, five fours, four sixes, 37 balls) were other main contributors.

Hafiz Saad also snapped up four wickets for 21 runs as the losers were all out for 117 in 27.2 overs. Opener Ahmed Rauf remained top scorer with 44.

Half-centuries by Asad Zaidi (89), Sufyanul Haq (74) and Muhammad Umar (51) enabled Government Pilot High School to earn a convincing 326 runs win against Federal Government High School for Boys No 5.

The winners amassed 396 and shot out the losers for 70.

Unbeaten knock of 75 by Adnan Yousaf steered Government Comprehensive High School to a big 210 runs win over Al-Mughal Education System.

Agencies add from Karachi: Owais Hayat slammed the first century of PCB Inter-school cricket championship in Okhai Memon School's 99 runs victory over Government Boys Secondary School (GBSS) Layri at UBL Sports Complex Ground on Wednesday.

Owais cracked 14 boundaries and two sixes in his 111 as Okhai Memon piled up 277 all out in 37.1 overs. Leg spinner captured six wickets for 38 runs. GBSS Layri were bowled out for 178 in 28 overs.

At TMC ground Abdullah hammered 80 with seven boundaries as FF Public School handed out a massive 237 runs defeat to GBSS Comprehensive.

FF Public made 292 for 5 in 40 overs and GBSS Comprehensive in response crashed to 58 all out in 21.2 overs. Ayaz Aslam took three wickets for ten runs.

Green Home School beat GBSS Federal No.1 Firdous Colony thanks to fine all-round show by Tahir Rehman, who took two wickets for 44 runs and slammed 49.
