India has issued no new alerts regarding floods in any river in the past 24 hours, DG PDMA Irfan Ali Kathia has said, adding that the water levels can now be expected to recede.

While speaking to the media, Kathia said that “in light of this development, it can be now said with certainty that water on all our rivers will recede.”

He noted that water levels are experiencing a decreasing trend in the Sutlej right now, saying, “There has been a falling trend in the last six hours”.
