LAHORE: Pakistani boxing great Babar Ali, who won silver medals at the 1982 and 1986 Asian Games, has died aged 62 after a long illness, his family said on Friday.
He had struggled with renal issues for the past year.
Babar represented Pakistan at the 1984 Olympics, fighting in the bantamweight division. He was also crowned best boxer at the 1985 South Asian Games.
He later served for decades as a boxing coach for the Pakistan Boxing Federation and his parent department, Wapda.
