QUETTA: Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti has said that sustainable development is not possible without integrating women into the mainstream of society.

Speaking at the inauguration ceremony of the Women Economic Empowerment Endowment Fund on Wednesday, the chief minister said the provincial government is making efforts for economic empowerment of women in the province.

He said the launch of the Women Economic Empowerment Endowment Fund marks a historic milestone that will help thousands of talented women of the province to achieve financial independence.

Highlighting the importance of women’s active role in society, Mr Bugti said that empowering women has always been close to his heart.

“That is why in Balochistan not only have women been appointed to key administrative positions, but now a practical step has also been taken to highlight their economic role,” he said.
