LARKANA: A mentally challenged woman allegedly strangulated her four-year-old daughter to death at her home in Bhale Dino Behan village near here on Wednesday.

Family sources said that it was highly likely Khushboo Behan, who had exhibited signs of psychopathic behaviour, had killed Kainat because she had also taken the life of her two-year-old daughter, Fatima, by making her drink acidic water used in a battery.

Police officials said that an FIR (No.13/2025) had been registered against the woman under section 302 PPC on charges of strangulating her daughter on a complaint lodged by the victim’s father, Izhar Ali Behan.

Police arrested the suspect, Khushboo Behan, and shifted her to Women’s police station.

She would be produced in court on Thursday, said police officials.

The complainant stated in the FIR that his wife used to warn him: “Divorce me or I will kill your children.” His wife had murdered another daughter of his in past, he said.

He added: “I had two children, both of whom, my wife has killed, she has destroyed my home.” In a video available with the Dawn the suspect herself could be seen and heard confessing to have strangulated her daughter with a dupatta. “I don’t know what I was doing [at that time],” she said.

The victim’s body was shifted to Dokri hospital for post mortem.
